Questions
1) The bond Found between amino acid is Peptide bond.

2) The secondary structure is formed between the amino acid, this causes the chain to twist.

3)  It is due to the interactions between R groups, convalent bonds, it bonds, repulsion. It depends on primary structure in the a.a sequence. My protein was different because of the letters.

4) Two or more polypeptides stick together.

5) the bonds between amino acids would be the same, but the interactions  between R groups / side chains would be different because of different placement of amino acids.

Colon Cancer

The Sunnybrook colon cancer was great, and a horrifying experience. I couldn't watch the video for to long because it go very disturbing, for instance, I wouldn't have believed that they used staples and sewing string for surgery. I was shocked at how surgeons are able to withstand the terror and be so precise and accurate in there surgeries. The worst part for me was when they finally removed the colon, it was so large and to only imagine that the small intestine is several times larger is mind blowing! Overall this was a great learning tool and really helped me understand what we've been going over in class due to all the questions they answered on there twitter.

Lab

The two test tubes of lemon lime before addind CO2 and aerating the control tube on the left. Both liquids are clear, like water.

This is after exhaling co2 and thebone with the straw looked salty and white an the other test tube was still clear

After blowing co2 into one for 5 mins changed yellow after ph identification liq andthe other one turned green

The Respiratory System

COOL FACT:
You lose a lot of water just by breathing.Breathing allows you to take in the oxygen your cells need and expel carbon-dioxide waste. But when you exhale, you also breathe out a lot of water.

How much water do you lose from breathing? When at rest, humans exhale up to 17.5 milliliters (0.59 fluid ounces) of water per hour, according to a 2012 article in the journal Polish Pneumonology and Allergology. But you lose about four times that amount when you exercise, the study said.

Dislocated Shoulder

Dislocated shoulder. This is when a fall or blow causes the bone to pop out of the shoulder socket. Unlike a lot of joints in your body -- your elbow, for instance -- the shoulder is incredibly mobile. You might get a separated shoulder or a dislocated shoulder by:
  • Falling onto your shoulder, especially on a hard surface
  • Being hit in the shoulder
  • Trying to break a fall with your hand
Dislocated shoulders can also result from a sharp twisting of the arm. Sports that pose a higher risk of these two injuries are:
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Rock climbing
  • Rugby
  • Soccer
  • Skiing
  • Volleyball
I chose to pick this specific joint because I workout and play a lot of sports and this would be very scary to happen to me.

My favorite so far is rock climbing. I am the most proud of: Super fit because its helping my health and im getting more stamina. The most interesting things I have learned about are: Is the heart and how it works. An example of when I really pushed myself in SuperFit is:beep test. I could make improvements in: Listing while ms.phillips is talking. I am really looking forward to:More feild trips and learning more in bio. The Basics - WORK HABITS:Good Attendance (classes missed and why) - Sick or doctors Participation in field trips (woo kim, grouse grind, rock climbing) - didnt attent grouse grind but attended the other ones and were fun. Lates (how many & reasons) - Eating or talking with friends Preparedness for class (gym strip &/or supplies) -Always. Class time management (are you using your class time to complete your work? engaged in class discussion? participating? following along? doing your best? or talking too much? ) -Good, sometimes i talk, and disrupt the class, I will improve on this over time. Heart dissection

1. The most surprising thing I found about the heart was that the atria appeared as flaps did not appear as they would on paper.

2. The reason the atria and the ventricles are so different in structure is that the ventricles were thick and hard to cut through do to the amount of blood pumping through and the atria were flappy, pruny, and seemed more like a storage than atrium. The atria must deliver blood to the ventricles while the ventricles deliver blood to arteries to go outside the heart.

3. The left ventricle is larger than the right ventricle because the left ventricle mudt pump to the entire body while the right ventricle only has to pump it to the lungs.

4. The function is of the valves is to make sure blood flow goes through and does not go back. The chordae tendinae helps keeps the valves intact. The importance of the valves is very high as they prevent reverse blood flow which can damage our bodies
